For the desktop workflow, TradingView sends a webhook to PickMyTrade, and the PickMyTrade desktop app connects to TWS. Verify each stage separately: alert creation, webhook delivery, desktop connection, broker acceptance, and execution.

Step by step
- 1 Log in to paper TWS and configure API access with the actual socket port.
- 2 Connect the PickMyTrade desktop app and check the intended account.
- 3 Use PickMyTrade’s current IB alert generator for your product, account, size, and exit mode.
- 4 Copy the generated webhook destination and message into the right TradingView alert. Keep credentials out of public screenshots.
- 5 Run a planned paper test and compare the TradingView alert log, PickMyTrade alert record, and TWS order and fill.
A practical example
Think of the route as a chain with a receipt at each step. The chart fires an alert. PickMyTrade receives it. The desktop app sends the planned request to TWS. The broker may then accept, refuse, or fill the order. Keep the time and ID at each stage of one paper test. If a stage is missing, start there. A green icon at the first stage does not prove that the last stage happened.

Common questions
Do I need a direct IBKR login in TradingView too?
That broker-panel connection is a separate path. Follow the webhook workflow you are configuring.
Can I close TWS in this desktop setup?
The desktop connection needs its supported TWS session running and logged in.
