Use the current PickMyTrade IB alert form to create the message. Then read what the alert actually sent. A missing quote mark or a placeholder left as text can make it fail. Valid JSON must still use the fields the IB app expects.

Step by step
- 1 Regenerate the message for Interactive Brokers and the intended alert type.
- 2 Copy it without adding formatting quotes, comments, or trailing commas.
- 3 Inspect the sent message in the alert history, especially unresolved placeholders.
- 4 Validate syntax locally without sending secret tokens to a public validator.
- 5 If syntax is valid but the app rejects it, use the exact validation message to check the expected schema.
A practical example
Suppose a placeholder stays as text where the receiver expects a number. The message may look close to the template but still fail a field check. Read what was actually sent, not just what you pasted into the editor. If you need to check syntax, do it locally and keep the token private. A sample for another broker may have valid JSON while still using the wrong fields for IBKR.

Common questions
Is valid JSON enough to create an order?
No. Required fields, account routing, and broker rules still need to be valid.
Should I put TWS credentials in the message?
No. Broker login credentials do not belong in an alert payload.
