Topstep and Rithmic: Identify Your Current Platform First

Quick answer

Topstep’s current public platform is TopstepX. TopstepX credentials are not Rithmic credentials, and its built-in TradingView charts do not turn it into a Rithmic connection. Follow the platform actually assigned to your account; treat old Topstep/Rithmic tutorials as historical unless Topstep confirms they still apply.

Start with the current account assignment

Topstep's current platform page and TopstepX help describe access through TopstepX. Open the platform linked by the account dashboard and compare the issued username and account ID. Do not enter those credentials into RTrader simply because a previous tutorial used it.

What to do with a historical Rithmic account

If you were explicitly issued a Rithmic login, confirm its current activation and supported platform with Topstep before relying on it. Use the actual assigned System/Gateway. This guide does not establish continuing access for every legacy account or provide an invented new-account Rithmic signup path.

Automation and external connections are separate

TopstepX API access is a distinct ProjectX-powered route with its own subscription/linking and key-generation process. It is not the Rithmic API. A service supporting ProjectX as a broker connection does not automatically support a particular copier arrangement.

The current API guide prohibits order transmission from a VPS, VPN or remote server and requires trading activity to originate on the personal device. It distinguishes read-only server analytics from placing, modifying, cancelling or relaying orders. It also excludes Live Funded accounts from this API route. Check these conditions before selecting automation.

Before using an external tool, verify account-stage permission, the supported connection and the actual destination. Do not paste a Rithmic payload into a ProjectX workflow or assume embedded TradingView charts accept TradingView.com webhooks directly.

Record the platform URL/app, account stage and complete error. Use Topstep support for the current account assignment. Rithmic password-reset advice is relevant only to an actual Rithmic login; changing a gateway cannot repair a TopstepX credential problem.

The public reference below identifies Topstep's platform offering. It is not a screenshot of a private Topstep account or evidence that all historical accounts have identical migration status.
