Rithmic Account ID, Username and Connection Name Explained

Quick answer

A Rithmic username authenticates a connection. An account ID identifies a trading destination exposed by that connection. A connection name or local nickname is a display label. Match the full provider-issued account ID rather than inferring identity from a prefix or numeric suffix.

Distinguish the identifiers

Identifier Use
Provider website login Accesses membership, billing or program information
Rithmic username Authenticates to the assigned Rithmic System
Trading account ID Selects the actual account for orders and records
Local connection name Helps recognize a saved platform configuration
Nickname A visual aid where supported; not evidence of a changed broker identifier

Locate and compare the account

Use the provider's issued account details, then compare them with File → Trader Dashboard in the authenticated desktop. The current capture shows distinct Account and Name columns. Do not substitute a guessed format such as a firm abbreviation followed by digits.

For automation, use the account resolved by the current connection/generator workflow. Do not strip prefixes or match only a shared number when two accounts look similar. If a platform displays an alias, use its documentation or provider support to establish the exact mapping before routing.

Keep a private identification record

Record provider, program/stage, full account ID, associated username/System and a meaningful local label. For example, a local label can describe the provider and evaluation number without pretending to be a real routing ID. Store credentials separately and redact IDs in public screenshots.

After a reset, account replacement or stage transition, compare the newly issued details with saved workspaces, alerts and copier destinations. A provider may retain or replace identifiers; neither behavior is universal. Earn2Trade's setup guide is an example of provider-issued data credentials distinct from general website access.

Common questions

Can I infer funded status from the prefix?

No. Use the provider account status and program documentation.

Can one username expose several IDs?

Yes. That was observed in the native dashboard.

Does a nickname change the routing ID?

Do not assume so. Treat it as a display aid unless the provider states otherwise.

Should public support screenshots show the whole ID?

Hide private identifiers in public material. Provide exact details only through the provider secure support channel when needed.
