Stock Trading Automation via TradingView
Automate stock trades from TradingView alerts to Interactive Brokers, TradeStation, and Tradier. Fast, cloud-based order processing with built-in stop-loss, take-profit, and position sizing.
PickMyTrade automates stock trades from your TradingView alerts to three equities brokers: Interactive Brokers, TradeStation, and Tradier. When your TradingView strategy or indicator fires an alert, PickMyTrade reads it and places the matching stock order at your connected broker. There is nothing to code and nothing to keep running on your own computer, because the automation lives in the cloud. You keep your existing brokerage account and your existing TradingView charts, and PickMyTrade is the bridge that turns an alert into a live order.

How to automate a stock strategy from TradingView
Automating a stock strategy takes four steps and no programming:
- Connect your broker. Create a PickMyTrade account and connect your Interactive Brokers, TradeStation, or Tradier account. You can use a live account or a paper / demo account where your broker offers one.
- Generate your alert. In PickMyTrade, generate the alert message and the webhook URL for your buy and sell signals. PickMyTrade writes this for you, so there is no JSON to hand-code.
- Paste it into TradingView. Create an alert on your strategy or indicator in TradingView, delete the default message, paste the PickMyTrade message, and set the webhook URL in the alert's Notifications tab. Webhook alerts require a paid TradingView plan (Pro, Pro+, or Premium), because free TradingView accounts cannot send webhooks.
- Go live. Enable the alert. When it fires, PickMyTrade places the stock order at your broker automatically. Test on a small size first, then confirm the fill in your PickMyTrade alert log and in your brokerage account.
PickMyTrade processes your order in under 200ms on our side. Total fill time also depends on your broker's execution, network latency, and how quickly TradingView sends the alert.
Supported equities brokers and account types
PickMyTrade automates US stock and ETF orders through three brokers:
- Interactive Brokers (IBKR): stocks, ETFs, and options across a wide range of US and global markets, with live and paper accounts. Automate TradingView to Interactive Brokers
- TradeStation: US stocks, ETFs, and options, with live and simulated accounts. TradingView to TradeStation automation
- Tradier: an API-first brokerage for US stocks and options. TradingView to Tradier for stocks and options
You can connect a cash account or a margin account. The account type matters for day-trading limits: margin accounts with under $25,000 in equity are subject to the pattern day trader rule, while cash accounts are not, though cash accounts settle on a delay. Connect the broker you already use. PickMyTrade does not hold your funds and does not act as a broker.
Trading crypto or futures instead? PickMyTrade also connects to Binance and Bybit for crypto, and Tradovate, Rithmic, and ProjectX for futures, among others. Those are separate from the equities brokers above.
The pattern day trader (PDT) rule and day-trading considerations
Automating stock trades does not exempt you from US day-trading rules, so it is worth understanding the pattern day trader (PDT) rule before you switch a strategy on. Under long-standing FINRA rules, if you place four or more day trades within five business days in a margin account, and those trades make up more than 6% of your total trades in that period, you are flagged as a pattern day trader and must keep at least $25,000 in equity in that account. Fall below $25,000 and your broker can restrict day trading until you top the account back up.
A few practical points for automated stock strategies:
- The rule applies to margin accounts. Cash accounts are not subject to the PDT count, but they settle on a delay, so you can only trade with settled funds, which limits how often you can round-trip the same money.
- The rule is about intraday round trips. Strategies that hold overnight are generally not counted as day trades.
- Futures are not subject to the PDT rule, which is one reason some automated traders run intraday strategies on futures instead of stocks.
Rules like these change over time, and your broker may apply them slightly differently, so confirm the current requirements with your broker before you automate an intraday stock strategy. For a fuller walkthrough, read our guide on day trading rules and PDT requirements.
Order types and controls
PickMyTrade places real broker orders, not just notifications, so you get proper order control on every automated stock trade:
- Order types: Market, Limit, and Stop orders.
- Stop-loss and take-profit: attach protective exits to each entry so a position is managed even when you are away from the screen.
- Position sizing: size each trade by a fixed number of shares or by a risk percentage of the account.
- Multi-account: send one alert to more than one connected account at the same time, each with its own sizing.
Everything runs in the cloud, so there is no desktop app to keep open and no VPS to rent. You set the rules once, and PickMyTrade applies them to every alert.

Domande frequenti
Yes. PickMyTrade turns your TradingView alerts into live stock orders at your broker. When your strategy or indicator fires an alert, PickMyTrade reads the symbol, side, and size and places the matching order on your connected Interactive Brokers, TradeStation, or Tradier account. No coding is required, and the automation runs in the cloud so your computer does not need to stay on.
For US stocks and ETFs, PickMyTrade connects to Interactive Brokers, TradeStation, and Tradier. You connect the brokerage account you already use, and PickMyTrade does not hold your funds. It also supports other brokers for crypto and futures, but those are separate from equities.
The pattern day trader rule still applies to automated trades. In a margin account, four or more day trades within five business days flags you as a pattern day trader and requires you to keep at least $25,000 of equity in the account. Automation does not change this, so plan your strategy around it: use a cash account, hold positions longer than a day, or keep your account above the threshold. Always confirm the current rules with your broker.
No. PickMyTrade generates the alert message and webhook URL for you. You paste them into a TradingView alert and set the webhook, and that is the whole setup. There is no script to write and no API integration to build.
PickMyTrade is $50 per month or $500 per year, with a 5-day free trial and no credit card required to start. Your broker's own commissions are separate, and there is no extra per-trade fee from PickMyTrade.
